Quality Assurance Engineer

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Quality Assurance Engineer (QA) will be dedicated to providing our customers with the best experience possible. They will be able to anticipate not only the customer’s expectations of our available products, but also provide solutions for needs our end-users may be unaware of. Our QA will be responsible for ensuring our products meets the establish Lathem standard of quality, reliability, ease of use, and performance. Our QA must be able to communicate to our team, other departments, stakeholders, as well as customers; both clearly and comprehensively. Our QA will provide test plans, and adhere to testing guidelines and SCRUM practices, to deliver a product that can truly be defined as ‘Done’. Our QA must be motivated to investigate new avenues of testing on both web and mobile interfaces, along with our growing line of physical clocks that will be sold to our end users.

 

QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER(QA) RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

o   Able to isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes.

o   Able to develop detailed test plans for both a cloud-based SAAS and mobile application and continually maintain a regression testing plan.

o   Creative solving of technical problems with the additional benefit of translating solutions into both test plans and guidelines for a Customer Support team.

o   Ability to troubleshoot issues that arise during testing both simply and creatively.

o   Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced, multi-directional, Agile environment with an emphasis on SCRUM practices, procedures and beliefs.

o   Driven to work independently but able to self-organize.

o   Able to proactively communicate with members of the SCRUM team.

o   Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and strategies.

o   Able to estimate, prioritize, and plan testing activities.

o   Able to review specifications, technical designs, and mockups to provide timely and meaningful feedback.

o   Able to translate an item or bug into clearly defined Acceptance Criteria.

o   Provide brief training and documentation for our Customer Support team and potential users on our Software and Mobile Application changes and troubleshooting.

 

REQUIREMENTS::

o   Familiarity with Microsoft DevOPs (formerly Visual Studio Online/TFS), Visual Studio, and Azure.

o   Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and processes.

o   Basic Knowledge of SQL and scripting.

o   Mobile testing experience; familiarity with Mobile troubleshooting and debugging techniques on Android and iOS platforms.

o   Strong Computer, Mobile Device, and Online Skills .

o   BS or BA degree preferred.

o   1+ year(s) of relevant QA technical experience or educational equivalent.

o   Home internet and network capabilities. Reliable transportation.

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

o   Clear written and verbal communication skills.

o   Ability to write in HTML.

o   Previous experience with MadCAP Products (Doc2Help, Flare).

o   Hands-on experience with automated testing tools and test scripting.

o   Experience with security testing.
