What does the FaceIN FR650 system include?
The FR650 trade up system includes: The FaceIN FR650 terminal; power adapter; PayClock Version 6 software CD; User’s Guide; Quick Start Guide; 5ft. Ethernet cable; mounting diagram; wall mounting bracket and mounting hardware.
How does the FR650 terminal collect employee’s time & punch data?
The terminal utilizes an “embedded facial recognition” system to recognize and verify each employee as they clock in and out for work. Employees punch in and out by presenting their face in front of the terminal’s “Dual Camera System.” Within seconds the FaceIN terminal verifies the face image and records the punch. Employees can be verified using two methods: either by entering a PIN and facial recognition or facial recognition only. Upon a successful validation, the large color LCD display will show the employee’s name, time of punch and it will produce an audio prompt identifying a successful punch. *Please note: The FR650 terminal does not offer a display of an employee’s total work hours, as with the model TS100 terminal.
Will employees face images be stored in the terminal in a way that they can be accessible by others?
No. The FaceIN FR650 captures a digitally encoded image (for up to 500 employees) made up of binary code information that is used only to register and verify employees.
How easy is it to setup and install?
The FaceIN FR650 is easily installed in just about one hour either through Ethernet connection or stand alone set up. Your current time and attendance data and settings can be imported from your existing PayClock software. PayClock Version 6 data seamlessly integrates with major payroll software such as QuickBooks®, ADP®, Paychex® and more. If configured as a stand alone terminal, employees can be added at the FaceIN terminal first and then added in the PayClock software later. This could be useful when a new employee starts work before having a chance to add them to the PayClock software.
When deciding where the terminal will be installed, keep in mind that an 115vAC power outlet should be within six feet of the mounting location as well as a connection to the network (LAN). Note about Direct Sunlight - It is not recommended to have the terminal mounted in a location where it is exposed to direct sunlight. This could be troublesome during the registration process.
How are employee data and punches transferred into the PayClock software database?
The FaceIN terminal operates independently from the computer where the PayClock software resides. The employee punches are retained in the terminal’s memory and when you’re ready, you simply poll the terminal to add the punches to the PayClock software database. If the FR650 terminal is connected to your Ethernet network, PayClock software can be configured to automatically poll the FaceIN terminal(s). When a terminal is automatically polled punch data is gathered and automatically added to the database allowing you to edit, export and report on the data.
If the terminal is configured as a stand alone unit then a USB port allows for employee data upload or punch data download using a standard USB flash drive. The USB functions menu allows you to export punch data to a USB flash thumb drive and then import the data into the PayClock database using the PayClock software.
What administrator functions are available?
With FaceIN you can have up to five administrators. The administrator function allows you to review the device information, and set up the network communications. The FaceIN terminal is designed with default settings so that it will be ready for use after being updated with the employees. While these default settings allow you to get up and running faster, you can make changes to the settings if desired.
What if an employee wears eye glasses or has facial hair?
Eye Glasses - It is recommended for the employee to register with their eye glasses on for half the process, then remove the eye glasses and complete the registration. FaceIN will recognize the employee for verification with and without their eyeglasses.
Facial Hair and Hair Style - If the employee has a hair style that has their hair covering or blocking their eyes, the hair should be moved away from the eyes during the registration process. Facial hair does not affect the registration and verification process.
If I have multiple FaceIN FR650 terminals throughout my location, will my employees need to be registered on each terminal?
No, as long as the terminals are connected to your Ethernet network.
If my facility loses power do the punches remain in the time clock?
Yes they do. The FR650 stores employee punch data and employee face templates in memory maintained by Lithium battery. Once power has returned to the facility the data can be polled by the Ethernet connection or exported via USB thumb drive into the PayClock V6 time & attendance software.
