ATLANTA’S DESTINY’S CHILD INC. USES LATHEM’S
SHIFTPLAN™ EZ FOR EMPLOYEE SCHEDULING
Integration with Lathem's PayClock EZ
Provides Small Businesses a Complete Labor Management Solution

ATLANTA, Ga. (Aug. 26, 2003) – Destiny’s Child Inc.,
an Atlanta government-funded organization that provides services
for the mentally challenged, is using Lathem Time Corp.’s ShiftPlan™
EZ software to take the headache out of employee scheduling.
“We’re using ShiftPlan to plan our schedules and keep up
with everyone’s hours,” said Trese Schley, office manager. “Since
we already had Lathem’s PayClock™ EZ time clock, when we looked
around for scheduling software, it was a natural fit.”
Destiny’s Child’s employees visit clients in their homes
to help them with household chores, such as cooking, cleaning
and shopping, to help them live independently. Time clocks have
been installed at four different residential settings throughout
the city and employees swipe an electronic time card when entering
and leaving the home. This helps Destiny’s Child track staff’s
time and attendance accurately, rather than relying on staff
to remember when they clocked in and out, Schley said.
ShiftPlan is an easy-to-use scheduling
system, allowing users to create staff schedules in seconds
and avoid scheduling conflicts, according to Lathem Time. With
ShiftPlan, users can schedule staff weeks, months, or even years
in advance, allowing for better planning and avoidance of staff
shortages.
Among its benefits, ShiftPlan lets users produce clean, professional-looking
schedules for up to 25 individual daily shifts and up to 150
employees; schedule by department or position; improve scheduling
accuracy; analyze
employee punch trends to help reduce overtime pay and payroll
costs; eliminate redundant data entry; and save time.
“Staff scheduling is one of the most time-consuming and difficult
tasks managers face today,” said Philip Seagraves, director
of business development for Lathem Time. “ShiftPlan will not
only save users time by helping them create their schedules,
it unites employee schedules with actual time worked to better
manage staffing and payroll issues.”
ShiftPlan allows users to create professional schedules and
reports to distribute to all employees. Employee names can be
entered manually or automatically imported from QuickBooks Pro/Premier Editions 2003. Once employee names
are in ShiftPlan, the user defines shifts and builds employee
schedules.
“When you combine the individual needs of employees with
the need to have the right skills and coverage in the work environment,
scheduling can be very complex, even for small businesses,”
said Seagraves said. “ShiftPlan makes managing employee schedules
simple and efficient by putting a visual tool in the hands of
managers that allows them to actually plan work schedules in
advance and print schedules for groups or individuals.”
