Lathem Time Announces a Low-Cost Time and Attendance
 Solution for Paychex Clients

ATLANTA, Ga. - October 17, 2003 -- Lathem Time Corporation, one of the world’s leading designers and manufacturers of time and attendance products for small business, today announced that its No. 1-selling automated timekeeping system, PayClock® EZ, shares data with Paychex’s (NASDAQ: PAYX) Paylink® software, a desktop payroll solution for small- to medium-sized businesses, and Paychex's Major Market Services Preview® software, a PC-based option for larger businesses with more complex payroll and benefits needs. This exchange of critical data helps small businesses who use both products to manage their business more efficiently – saving them valuable time, money and resources.

“Our PayClock system offers Paychex clients a flexible solution for managing time and attendance,” said Lance Whipple, director of marketing at Lathem Time. “PayClock ships standard with interfaces to many other major payroll providers like QuickBooks® and ADP® which allows employers to change payroll providers at any time without affecting their time and attendance process.”

PayClock EZ is the No. 1-selling time and attendance system for small business with well over 20,000 installations in the United States, Canada and Mexico.  The PayClock EZ system is currently available at 2,000 retail locations including Office Depot and Staples super stores for less than $500.  The low purchase price offers payroll clients a more affordable total solution than reoccurring monthly lease models offered by some payroll providers.
