On August 8, 2005, President George W. Bush signed the Energy Policy
Act of 2005. The Energy Policy Act of 2005, extended Daylight Saving
Time (DST) in the U.S. by approximately four weeks. As a result, beginning
in 2007, DST will start three weeks earlier on March 11, 2007, and end
one week later on November 4, 2007, resulting in a new DST period that
is four weeks longer than previously observed.
Previously DST started on: First Sunday of April (04/01/07)
With the new law, DST will start on: Second Sunday of March (03/11/07)
Previous DST ended on: Last Sunday of October (10/28/07)
With the new law, DST will end on: First Sunday of November (11/04/07)
All Lathem Time products that support automatic DST change will need
to be programmed to the new dates. Otherwise, the automatic DST change
will occur based upon the old dates and the time on your product will
be wrong until it is manually changed. All products that support automatic
DST change shipped by Lathem Time after January 1, 2006 support the
ability to be reprogrammed to the new 2007 DST dates. Many products
shipped prior to this date will require some action to become compliant.
