Lathem Introduces FR650: The Latest Model in the FaceIN™ Series for Time and Attendance
The FaceIN™ Model FR650 is packed full of features the first product, the FaceIN™ FR700, but without a proximity badge reader or access control capability for a complete time & attendance solution suited for today's cost-conscious businesses.
ATLANTA (Oct. 19, 2011 ) - Lathem today launches the Model FR650, the latest terminal in its new line of FaceINTM Face Recognition Systems for time and attendance. The FR650 wall-mounted terminal uses ground-breaking and innovative 3D-imaging technology to identify employee's facial features and eliminate "buddy punching" (when employees clock in and out for each other), a costly expense for many employers. With FaceIN, employees simply look at the device and within seconds, they are identified and clocked in/out, making it one of the most intelligent human verification systems on the market. And with its contactless operation, FaceIN provides a hygienic and more accurate solution than existing biometric alternatives.
The FR650 is a complete solution with the standard benefits of the first product, the FR700, but without a proximity badge reader or access control capability. The FR650 is packed full of features demanded by today's cost-conscious businesses:
- Uses foolproof face recognition technology to instantly identify employees
- Provides a hygienic touch-free alternative to hand and fingerprint readers
- Eliminates "buddy punching" and the need for cards and badges
- Uses a standard Ethernet connection to an existing computer network
- Supports 50 employees but can be easily expanded to 500 per device
- Includes powerful desktop software for editing, running reports and exporting data to the most popular payroll software, including QuickBooks
"FaceIN is the most reliable biometric system available today," said Tony Burks, Lathem product marketing manager. "It's easy to use and delivers superior accuracy over biometric fingerprint readers, which can fail due to readability issues. It is also a more affordable alternative to high-priced hand geometry readers."
FaceIN's touch-less operation makes it ideal for any business, but especially those concerned with hygiene, such as food service or healthcare. Joe DeSalvo, director of Dining Services for West Virginia-based Aladdin Food Management, said, "FaceIN keeps employees from spreading bacteria and germs, which is important in our industry. It also prevents buddy punching and makes it easier for managers to pull time records for payroll."
Lathem recently held an eight-city product tour to introduce FaceIN to dealers and customers. At the Miami show, which was reported on in the Miami Herald, dealers expressed positive reviews of the new technology:
"It's a great system," said Brett Miller, president of Deerfield Beach-based Professional Payroll and a Lathem dealer. "I've been selling other time clock systems, and this blows them away." Miller even tested FaceIN with his own 10 employees and created another company, Faceclock, just to market it.
James Locklair, Lathem dealer at West Palm Beach-based American Business Equipment, said he has already sold FaceIN to a nursing home in Sunrise, a butcher shop in Delray Beach and a Dunkin' Donuts in West Palm Beach.
"I love it," said John Perez, general manager of the Dunkin' Donuts. "It's a very easy way to do payroll, and the computer does everything for you."
The FaceIN FR650 system includes powerful desktop time and attendance software to automate payroll calculations, reducing clerical and data entry errors, which saves time and money. It allows for editing and running reports and exporting to popular payroll software programs such as QuickBooks, ADP and Paychex. The FR650 system can be set up as a stand-alone system or using a standard Ethernet connection, it easily can be connected to an existing computer network.
The FR650 is affordably priced at $595 and can support up to 500 employees per system. FaceIN is available through a worldwide network of Lathem authorized resellers. Detailed product information can be found here on Lathem's website.
